About me and Info
Hi there! My name is Simon (or Sim) and I am a stroke survivor living in Western Australia. I was born in Perth and grew up playing AFL football, cricket and surfing.
In 2003 I suffered a head injury playing AFL Football in Sydney and as a result I had a stroke. I have had a great deal of rehabilitation treatment and have come a long way from an original dire prognosis. My main life issue is coping with aphasia (loss of language). My condition lead me to study art in order to help stimulate my brain through creativity and imagination. I have been spending a lot of time travelling, doing painting and photography which helped me find my reservoir of healing.
My Signature
When I first awoke from my coma and was attempting to communicate again, I signed my name as per this image - it looks like four g's. At the time I believed I was writing my name.
This is my official signature, which appears on all my artworks.
